We are hiring an Audience Development Editor for the Ringier Global Media Unit (GMU) The GMU supports the international media businesses in over 120 brands in 12 countries and markets (Switzerland, Central and Eastern Europe and Africa). In this position you will be at the forefront of driving digital strategies to enhance brand visibility, attract new users, and engage audiences.

Your tasks

  • Lead data-informed projects and strategic initiatives to foster strong connections with our readers, and communities across diverse platforms.
  • Initiate, coordinate and implement data-informed audience development projects in various markets ensuring our brands' visibility through impactful SEO and other relevant strategies.
  • Continuously drive knowledge exchange and growth in local markets by training, formulating and providing actionable recommendations to limit the traffic dependance from third party platforms, guiding colleagues and local experts in their execution.
  • Optimize the use of relevant tools for targeted content optimization and distribution, increasing user loyalty, and reshaping usage patterns.
  • Actively advocate for our brands' needs with major social media platforms like Meta, X, TikTok, leveraging our established network.
  • Together with the GMU team Identify and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for ongoing audience growth.

Your profile

  • A successful completion of a degree, preferably in Journalism, Media/Communication, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional training.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a comparable role within the field of audience development, preferably in the media industry, with a focus on editorial, SEO, social media, newsletter marketing, and data analytics
  • Proficiency in evaluating, optimizing, and distributing journalistic content.
  • Experience with editorial optimisation and publishing on popular social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, X) and a willingness to explore new platforms.
  • Expertise in web analytics, social and SEO tools, leveraging them effectively in your work.
  • Desirable experience in SEM (Search Engine Marketing) and Performance Marketing.
  • Passion for high-quality content and content analysis.
  • Proven capability to navigate complex challenges involving multiple stakeholders, maintain strategic focus in dynamic settings, and offer solutions to ambiguous problems.
  • Strong communication skills, a team player mindset, and enthusiasm for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within Central Eastern Europe and work flexibly.
  • Experience in multicultural environments, as well as exposure to management consulting and/or entrepreneurship, is advantageous.
  • Fluency in English, as well as German or a CEE language (Slovak, Serbian, Romanian, and Hungarian), is advantageous.
